My Name is Sandor Kovats and I'm the manager of the Youthful Web and Media Company. Along with Anthony our Programmer and Debbie our Designer we make up the core team.
I'm married to a fantastic lady called Renee and together we managed to further the species via our Son Caleb and Daughter Carleah.
In 1992 we completed our Discipleship Training School with YWAM Hobart (Tasmania) and then ran screaming back to Townsville for recuperation. Then in 1995 we took up the challenge again and became staff in Lindale Texas at the Mercy Ships HQ. A year later we arrived in YWAM Copenhagen were we worked closely with Kings Kids Denmark.
After completing a year in Denmark we decided to return home to Australia to begin a commercial Internet company with the long-term goal to be able to serve YWAM worldwide through professional web development services. Initially the company was called ABC Web Design and I was the only employee.
Some time later I was made an offer to become partners with two other people in a Business Directory and Web Design company and we changed our name to CivicNet. Suffice to say things didn't quite work out as expected and in early 2000 I purchased the shares of the other Directors and pushed on. By that stage I had two other staff Members to help me out.
Since then CivicNet grew slowly and steadily, working mainly with non-YWAM clients in Townsville, Sydney, Canada, the Caribbean and the U.S.
Eventually though I began returning more and more to the original goal of serving YWAM bases. Ever since 1998 I have been working very closely with Ken Mulligan, the Base Director at Reef to Outback who we share offices with now. Reef to Outback was our original YWAM base site and throughout the last 5 years through many trials and errors and victories we have learnt much about what works and what does not work.
Ken and his team at Reef to Outback have been a driving force in always pushing the boundaries of Web Development and much of our understanding and technologies have been as a direct result of Ken's ideas and ever growing wish list (which we try in vain sometimes to keep up with).
You can read more about our successes with Reef to Outback in the case studies section.
As a direct result of our work with Ken and Reef to Outback we have since been working closely with other YWAM bases around Australia and the world (See the clients section for full details).
In Christmas 2004 I sold CivicNet to a former employee so that I could concentrate all my efforts in developing the Youthful Web and Media Company as a standalone one stop shop for YWAM bases.
The Youthful Web and Media Company is interested in forming long term partnerships with YWAM bases in any country that wish to squeeze every benefit possible from this wonderful tool called the Internet. If you are interested in finding out more then please fill in the form on the Contact Page.
