Checklist for your Web Developer
If you're looking at a number of potential web developers then please feel free to use the below checklist to assist you. I admit freely that I wrote it with all our advantages in mind but they are all still very valid points.
- Does the company have a long history in web development?
- Do they have hands on experience with YWAM
- Are they able to provide you with examples of their work?
- Do they specialize in Internet Development or is it a sideline for them?
- Do they have a strong marketing approach to web development?
- Do they have fully qualified graphic designers on staff?
- Do they have fully qualified programmers and database developers on staff?
- Are they able to offer more advanced solutions such as content management, e-commerce and dynamic sites?
- Do they hand code their HTML (faster and cleaner) or do they use programmes like FrontPage to create their sites for them (slower and messier)?
- Do they have their own dedicated hosting server?
- Can they display case studies of financially successful solutions they have provided for their clients?
- Do they have clients nationally and internationally?
- Do they have strategies in place for advanced search engine submissions for your web site?
- Do they have the time and resources to continue to look after you after your site has been developed?
- Do they require you to sign lengthy contracts for ongoing maintenance or hosting?
- Does their own web site portray a professional standard?
